    Yes, you can reach the hotel with any car, and a 4x4 vehicle is not necessary. From the main road, it's 1.8 km on a consolidated road that is passable even in rainy conditions.

    Yes, we have secure parking at the hotel.
  • Do you have a pool?
    Yes, we have a small pool. The pool is available from 10 am to 6 pm. Additionally, we are planning to build a larger pool in the future.

    Yes, we are 1.8 km from Cocles Beach, and we are in the best area to visit the region, attractions, and beaches.

  • How long do you recommend staying?
    We recommend staying at least 4-5 nights. This will give you enough time to relax, enjoy our beaches, participate in activities, and experience glamping.
  • Do you accept children? Is it a family-friendly place?
    Yes, we accept children. The Glamping experience in the jungle is wonderful for children, especially those over 6 years old. However, there are certain potential dangers due to the high platforms and walking off the trails. If you have any specific questions or concerns, feel free to ask.
  • Are you pet-friendly?
    Yes, we are pet-friendly with some restrictions. A maximum of 2 small dogs or 1 large dog is allowed. However, please note that pets are not allowed in the rooms (only in tents and houses). For more information on rules and regulations, please request the regulations through

  • Is it suitable for people in wheelchairs or with reduced mobility?
    Unfortunately, it is not suitable. There are many stairs and heights that make access difficult. We are working to improve accessibility and make it possible in the future.
  • Is there Wi-Fi in the rooms and common areas of the hotel?
    Yes, there is fiber-optic Wi-Fi with a speed of 75 Mbit in all units and in the hotel's common areas, and it is free to use.
  • Is it necessary to book in advance?
    Yes, it is 100% recommended to book in advance to secure your space, especially during the high season months.
  • What types of cards do you accept?
    We accept Visa and Mastercard, but not American Express.

    We also accept bank transfers in euros, dollars, and colones. PayPal and Sinpe móvil for nationals are also accepted.
  • What is the reception's schedule?
    The reception is open from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

    Guests who cancel with 15 days' notice will receive a full refund of the amount paid. For cancellations made 14 to 8 days in advance, a 50% refund will be given, and cancellations made with 7 days' notice will not receive a refund. Please note that the cancellation policies do not apply to "Non-refundable" rates, and in such cases, there will be no refund for cancellations.

  • Do you have a restaurant?
    We only offer breakfast. For lunch and dinner, we can recommend the best options within 5 minutes of the hotel, including Caribbean, Italian, international, fusion, sushi, Indian, Argentine, and other cuisines.
  • Is tap water safe to drink?
    Yes, the water at Colina Secreta is drinkable. Make sure to bring your refillable bottle as we are a single-use plastic-free hotel, and we are proud of it.
  • What is included in the rooms?
    Daily maid service with towel changes upon request, and bed sheet changes every 2 days. Both rooms have mosquito nets, air conditioning and ceiling fans, a safe box, and a hairdryer available on demand. Each room has a private bathroom with hot water. The Bird's room is equipped with a shower, while the Palms room features an old-style bathtub. Both rooms share an elegant upstairs terrace with a designated corner for private use.
  • What is included in the houses?
    Daily maid service with towel changes upon request, and bed sheet changes every 2 days. All units have mosquito nets. In the houses, Belvedere House has air conditioning and Casa del Arista has 2 ceiling fans. Both houses offer a safe box, hairdryer on demand, private bathroom with hot water, shower, and/or bathtub. Belvedere House has a terrace with private space and armchairs, and Casa del Artista a hamoc in the garden.
  • What is included in the glamping tents?
    Daily maid service with towel changes upon request, and bed sheet changes every 2 days. All units have mosquito nets. The glamping tents have a ceiling fan, safe box, hairdryer on demand, private bathroom with hot water, shower, and/or bathtub. They also have a terrace with hammocks and armchairs. The Van Gogh Atelier don't have a hamoc. Hemingway, Molina Campos, Kipling, Blixen and Frida Glamping tents have a kitchen equipped with essentials for cooking, as well as coffee, tea, sugar, and oil.
  • What is the electricity and voltage in the hotel?
    The electrical current in Costa Rica is 110 volts. The plugs are American-style: standard US with two prongs (or three prongs if they are grounded). We also sell plug adapters for 5 dollars each.
  • Do you offer laundry service?
    Yes, we have laundry service.
  • Is smoking allowed?
    According to Costa Rican law 9028, smoking is not allowed.
  • Are there safes in the rooms?
    Yes, there is a safe in each room, and there is no additional charge for its use.
  • Do the massages include any additional services?
    If you book a massage, you will also get a free yoga class.
  • How is the weather?
    The climate in Puerto Viejo, Limón, is warm and humid tropical, with average temperatures ranging from 24-32°C. The rains are mainly at night, and the nighttime temperatures are pleasant.
  • What animals will I see? How close will I be to wildlife?
    You will see many animals, and you will be very close to them. Colina Secreta is located within a private nature reserve of 6 acres that acts as a biological corridor for wildlife. You can see toucans, sloths, howler and white-faced monkeys, iguanas, green and black frogs, among others.
  • Are the glamping tents safe with so much wildlife around?
    Absolutely recommended, it's the best experience! Monkeys do not come close to the tents.
  • Are there any dangerous animals?
    It's super safe to be at Colina Secreta. Just two pieces of advice: never touch the animals, and use a flashlight when walking at night to avoid possible encounters with venomous snakes.
  • What is the mosquito situation like?
    We are on a hill, and there is no stagnant water for mosquitoes to breed. Sometimes, after prolonged periods of rain and at dusk, you might see some mosquitoes, but our guests rarely find them bothersome. The tents also have mosquito nets.
  • What happens if I have a medical emergency?
    We have a partner medical emergency and ambulance service available 24 hours a day. In case of need, we will arrange transportation to Limón or San José if necessary, even by helicopter or plane. There are two medical clinics in Puerto Viejo, 5 km away, and several pharmacies.
